Week End Glacier, Ice and Snow Travel
Summer Alpine 2 days programm for gaining  safety skills to make you more self suffisant in your climbing.

Even without previous contact with ropes or any experience of ice or rock climbing, by the end of the weekend you will have climbed vertical pitches of ice, practiced crevasse rescue, and travelled over crevasses on both snow covered and dry glaciers.

This program is taylored to teach a beginner for walking on glaciers, learning the basicss that you will kneed on ice and snow; including Alpine ropework, crevasse and self rescue, glacier travel, crampon and ice axe techniques.

Day 1 - Mer de Glace glacier at around 2000m: a day on dry glacier

Day 2- Argentiere glacier / Col du Midi  / Vallée Blanche / Le Tour Glacier for a day on wet (snow covered) glacier , crossing crevasses, estimation of snowbridges, choice of routes, Alpine coils, crevasse rescue......
