CHAMONIX - ZERMATT: THE HIGH LEVEL ROUTE ON SKI TOURING (6 DAYS LONG)
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Dr Payot has opened the Haute Route, from Chamonix till Zermatt: a real performance. It's today, with time, a big classical ski mountaineering tour.
Crossing high pass over 3000. This legendary trip joins the 2 alpinism capitals through always spectacular surroundingPROGRAM :
D1: lift up to the Aiguille des Grands Montets (3297 m.), descent on the Glacier d’Argentière and skin up (1h.) to the Refuge d’Argentière (2771 m.) .
D2: up (3h.) to the Col du Chardonnet, then (1h.) to the Fenêtre de Saleina (3261 m.), descent of the Plateau du Trient, Col des Ecandies (2796 m.) and big descent via le Val d’Arpette sur le village on the Champex village (1466 m.), confortable night (showers) on the lakeside of Champex. .
D3: transfer by minibus on the Verbier resort, lift up to 2700 then skin up (40 mn.) to the Col de la Chaux (2940m.) , then by the Col du Momin (3003 m.) up (3h.) to the Rosablanche (3336 m.)and descent on the Cabane de Prafleuri (2624 m.).
D4: up (30 mn.) to the Col des Roux (2804 m.) and descent on the Lac des Dix (2928 m.) and up (2h.30) trough the Pas du Chat till the Pas de Chèvre (2855 m.) an descent on Arolla village (2000m.), confortable night at the Hôtel du Glacier .
D5: up (4 to 5h.) to the Cabane des Bouquetins (2980 m.) .
D6: up (1h.30) to the Col du Mont Brulé (3213 m.), then (2h.) to the Col de Valpeline (3568 m.) and last but not least, superb descent on Zermatt along the Cervin North Face.
LEVEL 2: Classical difficulties for that tour, compensed by two confortable nights in hôtel; anyway physical condition must be at least correct. Physical and technical are interdependant: less you have one, more you need the other…

DATES : 21rst. to 26th april 2008
RENDEZ-VOUS : at 12 AM. the monday , at the SNCF Chamonix train station .
DISPERSION : around 14h. at Zermatt .
GUIDING : one experienced mountain-guide for maximum 6 people
LODGING : refuge Argentière and Prafleuri (night in dormitory , dinner and breakfast provided) , refuge Les Bouquetins non guarded (blankets and cooking at disposal) , confortable hotels in Champex and Arolla .
MATERIEL : - skis de randonnée , skins and snow blade in good repair .
- light crampons , harness and screw-carabiner , one avalanche bipper with new batteries .
- ski mountaineering boots eventually one pair of light sport shoes .
- backpack (40 to 50 l.), water bottle or thermos (1 l.) , one headlamp and your usual ski-wearing .
- one elastoplast roll (6 cm.) (for blisters prevention) double skin or « compeed » (in case or blisters)
- pocket-knife, sun-cream, lipstick, hat or cap ..
- a SMALL change of clothes and toilet bag .
ATTENTION to the weight of your backpack, you'll have to carry it during 6 full days:PRICE : 800 €/pax. on 4 pax basis
including : - organisation and guiding by a mountain-guide .
- half-board in refuges and hotels
- transfer and cable cars as planned in the program
- personnal rescue insurance
not including : - drinks in refuges .

Booking:
It is effective with the payment of an 30% total price advance. The balance must be payed 30 days at the least before startingInsurances:
Montagne Plus is insured by a civil professional liability. At the inscription, you can subscribe a special insurance 25 Euros/ pax covering :civil liability : without any limit for corporal damage , 76224 Eur. for materiel damage .
Individual damage : capital of 4573 Eur in case of death , - 15% exemption in case of invalidity
Medical assistance and repatriation : taken charge of policy holder and one accompanist without any amount limit inside the C.E.E.
Medical cost : limited to 152 Eur . in France, 1520 Eur. abroad, after intervention of your personal medical insurance
Rescue cost : refund of the real cost limited to 11433 Eur , in any case .
Interruption of stay : maximum refund of 304 Eur. with justifications
